First Summer Dance

Yesterday I learned that one should not follow up a martial arts lesson with a dance lesson. At swing everytime we did an underarm turn I wanted to do a shohinage and drop my partner. I'm proud to say I resisted the urge.

Dancing was very fun. It took my awhile to get into it but eventually it was good. Rich complained about being cursed with rhythm. Well Rich, you're lucky. I've been cursed with an inability to hear rhythm. I'm not exagerating when I say I can't tap my foot to John Phillip Sousa. Thus I get very nervous when dancing because I know that I'll most likely have to stop and start over at least twice while I try to find the rhythm again. I want to be a good dancer but I just don't feel comfortable in my own body and this makes everything I try feel awkward. After an hour or so it got good, though. People should know that Reed's friends are cool.

After dancing we tried to go dinering and failed. It seems that the sketchy diner has decided they no longer want to be twenty-four hours. While I understand this does cut down on how many times per month they get held up (you think I was kidding when I said they were sketchy?) it's far less convenient for me, particularly since they only other good diners near the dance area are about half an hour to forty minutes away. NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This morning was more Aikido where we learned the hottest sword "take away" ever. I'm not going to attemp to describe it except to say that it involves decapitating your attacker with his own sword.

I feel like I should mention that tomorrow is my birthday, so I will. Due to friends having work during the week there are no plans for tomorrow, and due to my not yet knowing if I'm working next weekend I can't make plans for days off. Tomorrow I should have an answer, though, so plans shall be made.

That will be all.
