Windsor and the Picture Meme

So I'm scheduled to go have my orientation at the Windsor on Thursday. I go in, get the presentation, my copy of the employee handbook, fill out forms, etc. Then I'm put in a holding office to wait for James. Fifteen minutes later (during which I've been diligently reading the employee handbook) James comes into the office looking very irate. He's upset that I didn't tell him I was leaving in August (I didn't point it out to him in the interview) and is ready to let me go right there. I reply that I put it on my application (more or less true; it's on there but it's burried in the education section), suck up, kiss ass, appplogize for the inconvenience, etc. and remind him that two of his desk clerks are leaving in about a week so they still need temporary work. He considers this, says he needs to consult with his boss about whether they can still use me and if it'll be full time or part time. He'll call me tomorrow.

So today was spent waiting by the phone. Oh joy.

In other news I'm about two-thirds done the new L5R book. I'm enjoying it immensely and should have a review up by Monday or so.

And while we're at it:

The super snazzy picture meme!

1. What's the first word that comes to mind when you think of me?
2. Go to http://images.google.com/ and search for that word.
3. Reply to this post with one of the pictures on the first page of results (don't tell me the word). Use an image tag, i.e. < img src="url.of.the.image.goes.here" >
4. Put this in your own blog so that I can do the same.

L5R Review

So Angel (flamboyantly gay Mexican from the Windsor) calls this morning. I didn't get a chance to talk to him in depth, but apparently James has worked something out because I'm due in tomorrow at 10:00 AM for training. I still don't know whether this is full- or part-time, but at least I have a job. Wish me luck.

In other news, I've finished the new L5R book (third edition). Collapse )
